I dont believe the Kannada speaking population have disappeared from Bangalore.
The fact is: Bangalore has grown rapidly in the last 7-8 years. The population of Bangalore has also increased and this is attributed mainly to the mass migration of Non-Kannada speaking people.
Hence, the overall percentage of Kannada speaking population in Bangalore has got reduced. This in turn gives an image that Kannada speaking population have disappeared. |

As the IT sector came into Bangalore, their lands were bought with good price. They have been pushed out of their own place due to lack of place and work. |

no...............they did not disappear........................people are learning other languages, specially we bangaloreans like to talk English, since it a linking language ....u judge urself......y didn't u write the question in Kannada.....kannadadhali baribhodhagithalla.
......................though our ancestors are from different place......once we are born and brought up here learn Kannada as our 1st language we get attached to it.......so don't think they are disappeared..........they are still there but love to talk Englishu ashte. |

Bangalore has had a long history of being the favorite place for people to retire in India. We started out with a lot of Kannada speakers, but with rapid growth of the IT industry, and many other industries, people from all over india were attracted to bangalore, and the Kannada influence has been diluted. English has become a status symbol and even people who know Kannada are ashamed to speak it cuz it may show they are "backward" or lack style. So the patriotism about Kannada has diminished with westernization and globalization |

Well, its strange. However, it would help if Kannada is spread across the non-Kannada migrating people. I am also an outsider, but I can speak some Kannada now (although not very fluently). However, only people are not willing to talk to me in Kannada, and switch over to either English or Hindi.
It would be helpful, if outsiders are trained in Kannada as well. |

It is not that Kannada people disappeared, it is all others people from all over India stated appearing in large numbers due to IT growth in karanataka, and karanataka people accepted them, and now feel homeless due to them. |

No. Still Kannada is vibrant and Kannadigas are in majority in Bangalore. |
