India in general is cheap as....well the third world! New Delhi is one of the more expensive parts, but if you have an income of $1000 a month; you can literally live like a king

Since you don't want anything fancy, so you can live within a budget of 10000rs per month. South delhi is most expensive while east, west delhi are little cheaper in terms of room rentals. However, there are cheaper pockets in south delhi too. Like Katwaria Sarai, Jia Sarai, Adhchini etc. Commutation in delhi is expensive. However, metro rail is cheaper & more comfortable option of travel.

Depends upon the area you might want to live in. The city is pretty huge and if you live in the suburbs, you can do a decent living for like 12,000 Rupees. But in case if you wanted to live inside the city, it might be pretty costly. The accomodation rentals would be as much as 10,000 for a 2BHK apartment.

It is not too much expensive to live in Delhi but it is also quiet right that it is also not too much cheap. One can find room from the range of Rs. 3000 to Rs. 25000 ($15 to $ 75) per month on rent. If you want to buy the property then the range starts from Rs. 25 lakh to 10 Cr ore. It all depends on your budget and the locality.

vps
i can't tell u actual costs because it depends on u ..how much u spend....otherwise new delhi is much cheaper than other metropolitans of india...happy stay
