Bring plenty of alcohol Gel. Cholera is rampant, and it's transmitted alot with the currency. You will want to wash your hands a lot with a disinfectant.India is overcrowded and not really hygenic. Everything is cheap, but be prepared to haggle to death over everything. While I love to eat the food that locals eat in other countries, ie I live in the middle east, love the food, and I'm in Thailand now and eat the street food regularly, I would NOT eat food prepared on the streets in India, at least till your immune system has had time to acclimate. There are plenty of hotels there to eat at. While there, I would also avoid going to Nepal for a weekend. There's a pretty nast civil war going on over there between the fratricidal King and communist from Tibet. The people are wonderfull. Very communal and peacefull. Not aggressive at all but you could still get robbed, ie pickpocket, left something out ect.You'll find alot to be bilingual, if not allways English, then another Eastern dialect.They love to help out to, if sometimes a little overenthusiastically. Don't know if this is very much help. Be prepared though, this is a very poor country and you will see poverty day to day that some people find uncomfortable. Travel and transportation is also scary. A motorbike is the best way to get around, but a car would be lot safer.

New Delhi is a wonderful place to be. But one cannot gurantee security.

hangout in night clubs where u stay in hotel. going and returing back to your place in night in delhi alone is not safe.

New Delhi, India is bad in summer. It's too hot. Try not to move out during noon in the summer. And if you are a girl, try coming back home before 7:30 - 8:00 in the evening. As it's not safe to hang outside alone. If you got a company to hang around, then it's okay. Be aware of the people. They might try to cheat you. Very brainy people. They might try to cheat on you in every possible manner. Specially the businessmen like retail stores, etc. Enjoy New Delhi, Bye

Delhi is a very nice place, with a wide diversity in every matter. It is a very crowded area and has some of the most ancient monuments as well as the most modern Malls, great clubs, dicos, pubs. But it is very unsafe place for women, especially in the night hours. I would personally advice you to be careful and believe only a trusted few. There had been cases of rape with women of foreign origin. You should befriend a good person, who can be with you as a body guard. Well whatever its really one of the few cities of the world where life is full of brilliance. Don't let your first impressions of Delhi stick like a sacred cow in a traffic jam: get behind the madcap faÃ§ade and discover the inner peace of a city rich with culture, architecture and human diversity, deep with history and totally addictive to epicureans.
