How is pune for a bachelor?

Dear Friends,

I will be traveling from Bangalore to Pune for an assignment from my company and will be there for a year. Currently i m getting 13K per month as my salary. Initially for 3 months my organization will pay for my accommodation. After which i need to take care of my self (including accommodation /.food). So please let me know, whether will i be possible to manage with this amount. Can some one provide with the details of cost of living in pune. Is it right for me to shift or should i stay back here in bangalore.

Pune is great for Bachelors... you will see lots of PYT(Pretty Young Things).

You take care of your these pretty things, all other things will fall in place.......

Pune is a cool place to stay. Traffic and pollution is a problem. If you dont smoke or booze then you can easily save in pune. Mostly the batchlors take paying guest accomodation / bed-basis accomodation in pune which are commonly available all over the pune city. public transport system is very good. most of the companies provide their own conveyance facility. pune is as good as a metro city.

pune is definitely cheaper than bangalore. No doubt about it.

Pune will be a delight to U as long U retain your sanity & bachelorhood intact despite several PYTs around galore.
Marathi girls R indeed charming, but only from a distance. No intimacy from Nonmarathis will be tolerated by them , hence this caution.

Two things

-Accommodation -You wont be able to save anything if you stay alone, room rentals are very steep.... u need to either look at PG Acco or share it with a few guys . u can try magic bricks.com for some good options.... There is a huge number of bachelors in Pune, am sure u will figure out something... would have helped if we know where exactly r u moving in....


Transportation- Is a big issue...juts as blore.... u will need to work out the same as well....

Pune has great food & booze joints, though not in the league of blore... am sure u will make it....
