I do not know exactly how many houses there are, but there is over 1 billion people there. India also has the largest populations of Muslims in the world, 10% of the population, thats 100 million, more then any other middle eastern country. So I guess if there were 4.5 people per household you would have approximately 222,222,222 houses, give or take 100,000,000. |

There are good houses- Millions of them in India. The population is 1200 million and averaging 5 persons per house and assuming that about 800 million of them have houses you can make your calculations. Some houses equal those anywhere in the prosperous world or even more posh. There are middle class independent houses and apartments .There are Government quarters and also smaller apartments and houses. The housing department of Government of India may have a website, try to look it up, they may have statistics. |
