How safe is it for a 20 year old causcasian woman to go jogging in Delhi, Ranchi, and Jharkhand?

Be careful. Go with a local. You will be safer. Delhi might be alright but the other two.....hmmmmm.

I don't think any problem at all as far as Delhi is concerned, but not sure about other places.

I am 24 and also a white girl; I lived in Delhi for a year. It's safe. Though do be wise and wear modest clothes while jogging. Also avoid the "bad neighborhoods". If you jog during the day it's also safer. A popular park during the day should be safe!

As far as the other two cities I cannot say.

Delhi should not be a problem even if u r alone, during early mornings. However, I suggest avoid doing such things in Ranchi even with a companion, at any point of time in the day !.

Please dress appropriately both because of custom and mosquitos.

You will not see women jogging in tiny shorts in Delhi or anywhere in India. So no one chases them.

I have stayed in all the places you have mentioned. In India if you are jogging with American dresses its little eye catcher - avoid spaghetti strap. Here people are not used to see those dresses often. Therefore where ever you go for jogging avoid lonely places. Indian people while in crowd are modest people in the world.

In Delhi select a populated park and avoid very early morning. Check for yourself when local families start going for morning walk.

Ranchi is the Capital of the state Jharkhand. For Ranchi also similar suggestion is applicable. Only there is hardly any designated park there. There are suitable places in HEC, Shyamoli, Morabadi etc. However do not go alone.

In Jharkhand there are few more towns like Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Hazaribag etc. Jamshedpur is most suitable place and there is great park called Jubilee Park - great and safest place for jogging. In all other places you need to be cautious and selective.

if you can bear the rude starings of almost all the men passing you by, are not afraid of being alone in times of difficulty, are strong enough mentally and emotionally,and know a few karate tricks...then its safe.

There is nothing to worry abt, u must be confident urself. That's it. India is a quite safe country untill or unless u show vulgarity and I beleiev anything can happen anywhere. I even know what what happens in US or UK kinda countries.

Delhi is as safe as any other city round the globe. You must be keeping yourself very careful in any city you pay visit. Same is the case in Delhi . All tourist spots are safe enough for all visitors equally.

Delhi ok where there is traffic can go to lodhi garden and when the sun is up
forget the other two even if u have security gaurds
