The best way to reach there by various means.
By taxi
Just go to the prepaid taxi counter and tell them that you need to go to US consulate on bhulabhai desai road. The fare could be around 350 but i am not too sure too.
By train.
From airport, go to andheri station and catch a slow train to churchgate. get down at mahalakshmi station. From there take a cab to Us consulate. The fare could be around 20 or 25 rs. Either way you can catch a bus too from mahalakshmi station but i am not sure about the bus route number,. Just ask anyone or the bus driver and they will tell you which bus goes there

You can either go by train or by taxi. If you want to go by train you can catch the train from Vile Parle Railway Station if you are arriving at domestic airport or Andheri if you are arriving at International Airport. There will not be much crowd in the train in the early morning hours. You can get down at Mumbai Central or Grant Road and take a taxi to U.S. Consulate.

Easy way for u to hire Taxi. so that u can reach to your place on time... by train or other thing may be u need find that place but say to taxi driver that u want to go bhulabhai desai road at us consulate. and he drop u that place.

I definitely agree w/ everyone else here. Hire a taxi. It will be worth it to you in the long run. Your flight might be late, you never know. Just plan to take the quickest route.

Taxi WILL be the only and good option because you do not want to get your important papers stolen in Train and all that.
Even when you hire a Taxi, be smart ok! Watch out for people walking around you becuase coming from US Cons. you definitely have some paperwork that you do not want to go in someone else's hand.
