pl wecome to Chennai. You may visit Chennai city tour by Tamilnadu tourism city tour bus. they operate the service in the morning 8.00 AM and evening 1.30 PM. so you you may spend in the evening by shopping at t. Nager. this place is very good for shopping as all the goods are cheaper and you have to bargain. Next day you may go by same TTDC bus to Kancheepuram and mamallapuram tour for full day. this will covered kanceepuram and Mamallapuram ,Muttukadu boat house,VGP and back to Chennai. Both the tour is guided tours. You may book any night train service to your next tourist places.

One day you can spare for Mahabalapuram which is 55 Kms to the East of Chennai on the East coast road.
It has 8th century(A.C) Pallava stone sculptures,a Beach.On the way you can visit Romulus Whitagar's Crocodile park.at Muttukadu(40 Kms from Chennai).You have also amusement parks on the way like MGM,VGP, Mayajaal....
If you start early you can also visit on the same day,Vedanthangal, a Bird sanctuary, 40 Kms further away from Mahabalipuram..
On the second day you can visit snake park, Planetarium which are within the City in the morning and the beautiful Marina Beach in the evening.
If you are interested in temples/churches/mosques etc.. you have many of them in Chennai an also on the way to Mahabalipuram. |

First day, get a tourist bus required no of seats hired for city tour, preferably by TN state tourism Development Corporation counter either at Chennai main Rly stn or else.
For Second day, get seats for either Mahabalipuram & Golden beach tour, or visit the places again & yourself by an auto/ Taxi the ones you liked most on the first day & thought that the time was not enough that day by tourist bus.
Spend the evening at Marina Beach, the world's IInd largest beach or perhaps the largest one. |
