How to say Taj Mahal?

My wife - who lived a few years in Agra where the Taj Mahal is located - swears that it is pronounced as tazh ma-hail' (m-schwa h-long_a-l with accent on the final syllable). I've read the other answers and no-one seems to have mentioned this way of pronouncing the Mahal (long a before the l).

She (my wife) was born in Delhi, and speaks Hindustani. Maybe it's a dialect thing. I believe that all our Indian friends and aquaintances that we've discussed Indian tourism with also say it as Tazh Ma-Hail'. Then again, they are all highly educated, mostly from IITs, the top universities in India. Come to think of it, so have the two different tour guides that we've used on our two visits to Agra. Hmmm....

A Google search of Taj Mahal pronunciation yields this (from factmonster.com):

Looks like you can choose your own pronunciation, as there are apparently multiple (accepted?) ones.

taj like u say fast...long sound of the vowel
u say 'ma' like the sound of 'e' in pen and then for 'hal' u say hell

Say this part as one word, using the 'sh' as in trying to tell someone to be quiet in the movie theatre: Taw-sh

Then say this part exactly like you see it: Mah-hall

Now say them together: Taw-sh Mah-hall

Just like that you said Taj Mahal correctly!

Tazh (where zh sounds like the middle of leisure)
Ma hall (as those words would be pronounced in English: all of the letters "a" in this whole phrase sound the same, and the syllables have equal stresses)

Most difficult part is "Ta". It's not T as in tea, but t as in "taaj". Don't rollback your tongue. Press your tongue flat touching the back of your upper frontal teeth, then try to say "Ta" wish I could record and attach it as an answer. You can ask that on messenger.

Fix the 3 mistakes people make .. The Ta path of Taj is said soft T,, like the first syllable in Theta, or theatre but the h doesn't sound. Taj is not taaz, but more like tauz (ex: not like pal more like paul). Mahal is is some what straight forward, but in india its more typically said like mahaal (muh-haul)
