I'm traveling India with a Indian female friend. I was very excited about this trip until I turned on the news this evening. All hell is breaking loose in India right now..Is it worth it to continue my journey!!?

I am sorry - I understand your concern and also for all those outside India, it all may look so dangerous.

But please note this is an one off incident. There is no war like situation in India nor does it mean that from now on, there are going to be regular attacks of this kind. It is like any other incident that happened in the USA or in the UK or in Spain or in several parts of the world that were subject to the madness of extremist elements.

All Indians condemn this incident. As an Indian I feel really sorry and am at severe pain to see all the hatred and torture my beautiful India is being subjected to.

I still advice you - life is normal here. Nothing makes India suddenly a vulnerable state now. An incident like this can happen anywhere in the world. Do not worry much about this incident and go ahead with your trip to India. I am sure you will cherish it and it will become a fond memory of a life time for you.

Also please note that Americans are not hated in India - for that matter no foreigners are hated. I can also say, even during the current incident, during rescue, foreigners were given priority over the locals - purely because it comes by nature to us Indians - that guest is God.
You are as safe in India as you are anywhere in the world.

I Understand your concern, But let me tell you such kind of incidence can happen in any part of the world.

India is one of most safe destinations, we do take care of our guests very well.

Delhi, Agra and Baroda are far from Mumbai, and even in mumbai there is nothing to worry as of now, it was a small incidence which happened and everything is normal now.

Please come to India we wish to welcome you.

you are as safe as any other Indian. but take care as to not flaunt your cash/wealth, cover your body with loose fitting clothes (tend to be less attractive, do not fool around with your bermudas exposing your legs and chest) avoid nocturnal outings and go for packaged tour offers instead of adventuring alone. be humble and simple, avoid unnecessary contacts with anybody, as the places you have mentioned are tourist spots regularly visited by foreign tourists with lots of disposable cash and antisocial elements would like to make a quick buck out of your kind.

You should not bother at all ma'am, the trouble is localised to Mumbai and Delhi, Agra and Baroda are totally safe.
WELCOME TO INDIA AND BEST OF LUCK

U are with an Indian friend, she should know the best by now, Baroda, Agra & Delhi are still safe despite the incidents, as long as U are with ur friend & not travelling alone/ night out / not staying alone. Enjoy ur stay & have fun, not to worry too much but be careful.

Honestly, if I were on the ground in India right now I'd just wait to make a decision until there was more information. It's impossible to say right now whether you'd be placing yourself in more danger by trying to leave or by staying, or if you're in no danger at all. Stay plugged into news sources of course, and don't make any decisions based on panic.

!
I understand your concern about safety, but why did you point out that you were an African-American female?

No don't go your going to be held hostage and then taken to women prison camps and get shot right behind the head.

I don't think so. I would put it off. Your safety is more important. It doesn't help the fact that you're American either. People outside of the US don't look to kindly upon us.

'Taker
It doesn't matter if your African American, a White American, or a Green and Blue American. The operative word is "American." That makes you a potential target.
I still say go and enjoy yourself, but be aware. The planet hates us. Whether it's from jealousy, twisted religious doctrine, or just for no damn reason at all doesn't matter. You are going into a 3rd world lion's den.
It would be foolish to think you couldn't be bitten.

ka-ching bling bling
no you are sooo not safe you should hire a vampire bodie guard
