You should first open the account at Patna and later get it transferred to Bangalore.

Approach the nearest SBI through some client of the bank. If you do not have/know anyone, obtain a letter from your company to the effect that you are employed with them and go with the following to any SBI branch:
1)Appointment letter/authentication letter form your employer, if possible with your present address(in which case point 2 below is not necessary)
2)Resident proof either from the house-owner)along with a copy of recent electricity bill from him)
3)Driving License/Voter Identity Card/Ration Card/Passport (Original for verification and photocopies for submission).
Copy of age proof (Mark sheet)

You can open account with S,B,I. or any other Banbk irrespective of your place of birth. However, you should submit proof of residence at the place where you want to open the account. If you do not have proof of residence at Bangalore, you may open the account at Patna and get the account transferred to Bangalore.
