If you go to www.cia.gov, then click the link on the left hand side for the 'World Factbook' and select India. You'll get some official records which is more like a data. If it helps you, well and good; if it doesn't, try google it because India has contributed a lot to the world. For example, India invented the number '0', the decimal number system, taught astrology and yoga to the world etc. Also, may be the most amazing thing is that although the country has more than 21 official languages, throughout the world, India is the only country where English is spoken the most.
