There are lot of trains. The fastest train is 2951 Mumbai-New Delhi Rajdhani Express which takes only 3 hours and 2953 Mumbai-Nizamuddin August Kranti Rajdhani Express makes in 3.5 hours!
All other trains take 4-5 hours.
The other trains are Mumbai-Ahmedabad Shatabdi Express, Mumbai-Ahmedabad Lokshakti Express, Bandra-Jammu Tawi Swaraj Express, Bandra-Jaipur triweekly superfast Express, Mumbai-Ahmedabad Karnavati Express and many more.

There are 2 direct trains to Surat from Mumabi. Mumbai-Surat Flying Ranee Express and Bandra-Surat Intercity Express.

There are many option.

Visit Indian railway site.

Bombay - Surat is 120 miles and Western railways is in charge of that route. To-day you may be able to take a train every few hours, at one time the run was 5 hours by "Express" or "Mail" train designation, had limited stops and all service was steam engine so they had to stop to take water and coal. To day it is diesel electric, and water/coal stops are eliminated, track speed is also higher, may take only 3 hours, by limited stops trains.

The "Passenger" and "local" designation trains use to stop at every station, to discharge and pick up people, and was much cheaper and took twice the time.

"farida522001" has given you some of the names of the trains.

I know in olden day Flying Rani or Flying Queen was the fastest, but it use to arrive in bombay at 10.00 am or so with 41/2 hour run time. And leave again at about 4 pm for Surat, it was mainly use by business crowd on a day or two days trips.

They had Vimamgham Express and Kathiawad Exprees, one of them left Surat arround 12.30 pm.

I believe this service is now every hour or even 1/2 an hour, during pick hours, but you need to check both departure and arrival time to make sure, slower trains leaving Surat before the express are left on the siding to let the express and mail go through.
