I and my wife is planning to visit Europe tour in July first week suggest which places we must visit in 11 day

Mrs & Mr Rahul, congrats you r going 1st time to europe but you will not have any choice unless you overstay beyond the thomas cook tour for which i will not advise you kyonki shahar anjana, safar anjana, dagar anjani aur us par bhasha ki meherbani. In these 11 days tour they have their own itinerary and you have to follow it religiously and punctually because if any group member is late in joining the tour in the morning they will cut some important place. In the begining you may not like getting up early in the morning and then getting ready at a very short time to join the tour but that is better in the interest of the tour and your fellow group members. You are definately on a conducted tour and if get ready fast you may get the front seats in the tourist bus to view the places from the front and side. This is our own experience of europe tour through SOTC and we really enjoyed so much that most of our co-travellers are still missing our company. I hope they take you to central europe i.e. London , cambridge, Paris, Venice, Milano, Brussels, Amsterdum, Colone, Black forest (Cucku clocks), Austria (Cristal factory), Switzerland, Geneva, mount titlis, lucerne etc. They may not have spain, portugal, greece in the itinerary because its far off to cover up by road. In paris the Lido show will be seperately chargeable show but you dont miss it at any cost becasue in that show you will love to watch displaying the beauty of women in most fashioned manner enjoying a bottle of Chempgene. Don worry July 1st week is also good season. Hope i could guide you little.

Definitely visit London. Its where i live, and its the best city in the world. Lots of history and culture

I've a U.S. student studying in London right now. I've been to 16 of the 27 EU countries so let me tell ou what I know.

First of all, the fact of the matter is, that you will not get the same bang for the buck visiting the big countries (France, London) as you will in some of the off-the-beaten trail cities. In Paris and London especially, you will find yourself paying more, seeing things you've seen before (on postcards) and being treated like another tourist. That said, if you are in Europe for 11 days, and since you will be travelling from India, it would be sensible to visit London, since you will be able to orient yourselves to the time zone/culture without having to go through the language barrier. The second reason London is a great staritng point is that, if you would rather spend your money on dinner/hotels than on flights, then London is also the jumping off point for Easyjet and Ryanair flights, both of which will take you to great European cities for as little as $40/20p.

That said, here are some places you should consider:

Vienna, Austria (2-4 days) - Less touristy than Paris, and the architecture is stunning . It's not as romantic (they speak German, not French, after all) but the Viennese cafe culture, the unbelievable palaces, and the sensible locals will more than make up for it.

Riga, Latvia (1-3 days) - The undiscovered gem of the new EU countries. The city center is unlike anything you've seen - completely art nouveau, with every building facade covered by sculpted faces and the like. The night life here is also incredible.

Istanbul, Turkey (As long as you can stay) - It's not 100% Europe, but it's within flight distance, and it feels like the center of a (if not "the") universe. No way to sum it up in a paragraph, but a quick wikipedia search might do the trick.

Anywhere, Italy (2-3 days per city) - Walk by the beach, buy some cream gelati (vanilla ice cream) and see the place European tourists have been flocking to for 400 years. You cannot go wrong going anywhere Italy, but generally avoid Milan (overpriced and overcrowd) and tend towards the classics: Venice, Rome, and Florence.

Krakow, Poland (1-3 days) - Europe's laregest open air plaza (we're talking acres and acres of open air walking space) and a beautiful city centre that survived World War II. The food is great (Kebabs and Pierogi).

Lisbon or Porto, Portugal (1-4 days) - Portugal is advertising itself as "Europe's West Coast" and it's not difficult to see why. Relaxed locales, beautiful beaches, modern transportation, and the knowledge that you've haven't been suckered into the "East Coast" metropolis of Barcelona are all key attractions. Portugal is the poorest/cheapest country in Western Europe, which may be an attraction or it may eb a turn off, depending on what you are looking for!

Finally, the ONLY travel books worth buying for Europe are the Lonely Planet guides, which I highly, highly recommend.

L'ITALIA I mean to Italy! There's a good place like Milano, Florence, Naples, and the best one- Venice where you can look the city in water!

12 days is awfully short, so I'd suggest not going to places that are very far apart, or you'll spend all your time in transit from one place to the next.

If you want to see only big cities and the maximum number of places, I would say to do London, Amsterdam, Paris and Cologne (Germany). That way you'll get four countries in, still have time in each to actually see a few things, and have only about 4 hours transit time between each stop. If you're not familiar with Cologne, it is a big city in western Germany, situated on the Rhine river. It is a great place from which to take a Rhine boat cruise for a day or two and see some of Germany's castles. There is also a beautiful cathedral (the Dom).

If you want quality over quantity, I'd say stick to two countries, maximum. In France you could choose from Paris, Versailles, Chartres, and part of Normandy (Bayeux is a good base there). In Belgium you could see Brugge (also spelled Bruges), one of the most beautiful small cities in Europe, Gent, Brussels. In the Netherlands try Amsterdam, Delft, Maastricht. In England there's London of course and also Dover (which can be reached by ferry from France or Belgium - this is fun) and Bath just for a start.

My list of "must-see" places in Europe is somewhat different from this, but 12 days is just not enough time to travel long distances (someone suggested Greece??). You'll spend all your time in trains or airports, checking in and out of hotels, unpacking and repacking. That would be a real pity.

Congratulation you made it big in the world, that you can take vacation in Europe.
If it is a conducted tour, then you do not have a choice, they will plan it well. If it is mot a conducted tour you will have lot of language problem, and the local tours, and transport will be expensive. So for your first trip go back and get an escorted trip. It is worth the extra cost. They will arrange all things and also advice you for your visa requirements.
We have done 3 escorted trips to Europe, Australia, and China. We were very pleased, we also had the additional problem as we are vegetarians.
