Nothing is life is free. There is always strings attached. You don't say where he is flying you from? From Toronto you are looking at $2700 Cdn ( cheapest ticket) which is alot of $$$. Where this $1000 is coming from ? Also you need a living expense while you are here and phone expense, food expense. If it's to good to be true it probably is. And what is this about it being nomal for Kerala guy to ask women to fly to his home all expenses paid. I am Keralite married to a keralite and I have never heard this? I am an Indian and this much i can say that Indian hospitality goes beyond borders. It is not unusual for people to invite other people including strangers, mere acquaintances to visit them. It is mostly done so that they can have some time together to know each other better. So mostly it is out of that hospitality that you got invited. There maybe no mal intentions here, but still i would not go without an escort to be safe.

i dont think you will end up dead. what i suspect is:

- you will fall in love with him and he turn out to be already married
- he is not married yet but wants to marry you to get a visa

- if he lives with his family it will be odd if it gets romantic because indians dont visit like this before marriage
- if he lives alone take care, almost no indian does, it may be a tempory room/flat to meet women

i dont think you say he would pay for your flight from abroad?! that would be too much even for indian hospitality. go because you trust him and want to know him better not because its for free.

better to enjoy and cry afterwards then not to enjoy at all!

To invite a young girl to his native land is not uncommon.This
could happen anywhere. A Keralite is not an exception. To
shell out say $ 1000 for a flight ticket is no big deal. It depends what one is expecting in return. Since you mention
that you just met a very nice Indian man only shows you have
no idea what his intention are. You have to know a person
more closely before you take such a dramatic decision.

How well do you know this guy? If you got to know him better (and I'm sure the man would understand this) then maybe it wouldn't be so unreasonable. If he can afford to pay for your flight to India, no doubt he has money and isn't a common criminal who will try to rob you or something.

Just wait until you know the guy better. If you go, it may be the adventure of a lifetime! Who would wanna miss that?

However, if you're female, he probably just wants to tap that. I'd stay away.
