When you are goin to be in India, you will not find the side walks for pedestrians stroller friendly...i.e. they dont have ramps. You would be better off the baby bjorn.

Shemit
In India nothing is compulsary, bring the one which suits you most and is comfortable for the baby.

I am not a parent, but I have been traveling alot before and I would say that you want to a baby backpack thingy. That is because there are a ---- load of people in India. They are going to be bumping into the stroller and it is very hard to travel with a stroller anyway. I have seen alot of people traveling with strollers and it looks troublesome and painful. As long as you don't have to carry too much physically on you, then i would say loose the stroller and carry the baby on you. I think it will be safer too because it will always be on you and with you whereas you might leave a stroller somewhere out of sight, even if for just a second.

A stroller is certainly not compulsory at airports or anywhere in India, in fact it is an impediment, given the uneven roads and pavements (if any!). Assuming a bjorn to be a fabric strap on baby carrier, you are better off with this. At this time of the year when it is summer or approaching summer in most of India, a cotton carrier and loose cotton baby clothing is advisable. Happy journey.

The answer of Nitin T above is practical and should be adhered to.

on flight reserve ur Bassinet in advance when u wanna travel with the infant- and ask for baby food--if its a long journey--give the baby-syrup--medicine-phenergan--half a teaspoon half an hour before the journey-to soothe the baby and make her sleep-its not harmful-u can ask ur dr--give the baby something to suck--mebbe nursing him or bottle feed him during take off s and landing--due to pressure babys tend to cry their lungs out-SHOIKO-(bjorn)-is what i used till my kids were 2-if this is a first-it may initially b tuf--but later on its a breeze---the baby goes to sleep rite away--u cud even nurse ur baby discreetly and no one knows--ur hands r free to carry all the shoppin stuff u v been planning to do--,just keep ur baby bag handy--diapers and water and wipes,an change of clothes

well in some airports they take your stroller away for a while so you have to carry your baby in your arms. with the other thing, i really don't know
