I miss you india?

i want to go to india so badly. i miss it there. i have not been back since 2005. my mom does not want to go b/c we always go w/ my grandparents and they just came back from india like a week ago. they only go in november. and my school break is in december. my grandpa cant go in the summer b/c of a chronic lung problem. my dad hates going to dehli b/c all we do is shop. what else is there to do? how can i convince my parents to go w/ me and when can i go w/ my grandparents? i want to go for 2-3 weeks.

no offense to the relatives, but that is not why i want to go. my relatvies live in Dehli and Chandigarh. i want to go to Bombay.

Why don't you just sit down with your parents and seriously explain your feelings. Perhaps you could convince them that your culture is important to you and you want to keep it fresh in your mind, etc. etc. That might work. It may be that the fact that you are female may make them hesitate to let you go alone. Perhaps an older female relative would go with you? Perhaps one of your family members over there will ask your parents for you and promise to look after you. Good luck!!

I miss India tooooooo

I've been 6 times in the past 3 years.....and finally got most of it out of my system ( because I want to travel to other places! )

If it is not practical to go with family - then wait till you can go on your own - and then you can choose when / how many times.....live there forever if you want!

But the world is your Oyster and you must persue your dreams - so find a way - or just wait but know you will get to go back there if you want ;-)

How old are you and in which class you are. If you have any relatives in India, you can convince your parents to send you in your vacation time. Try.

Well all I can really think of is tell your parents how you feel and why you really want to go and hope they understand. If they say no something you could do is get a webcam and tell your relatives to get one so you can talk on there I guess.

well, it's expensive to travel there - especially during the christmas season. have you thought about online chatting with your friends there? it involves some planning due to the time differences though. also, reliance cards are a great way of saving money when calling friends & family in india.

I love India too! I got every other year with my mom and brother. This year my dad is going but I had to stay back. I'm going in the summer tho. Anyways, ask your mom and dad really nicely and tell them you want a break and since winter vacation is coming, its the perfect oppurtunity for you.
