Ya i guess it would be a bit difficult to catch up with the Indian standard of teaching....U can complete ur schooling upto the highest grade in US and then shift to Calcutta for college..There are a lot of colleges here in India which are renowned and world famous too like the IIT. Ur college choice depends on ur field of interest. So do let us know the choice to guide u further..U r planning very much ahead and that is a gud start...Consult with ur parents to check more reg. the college n ur filed of interest... |

If you have lived most of your 13 years in the US then moving back to India would be a big culture shock in every way. There will be lot of adjustments that you'll have to make. If you are strong enough to cope then go ahead. I would say it would be a Very Big decision. |

Your parents will understand your situation better.
Education here in Kolkata is much better than USA at least till University level. However after that you need to be in USA only. Also professional opportunities are much better in USA compare to India. |

Don't move back to India while you're in high school unless you go to an International school cuz studies are HARD.Especially math.
Unless you get into a really good college in Calcutta then I think it would be best to just finish you're college in the US and maybe after that come settle down in India.
I think theres a college called Presidency thats supposed to be good(in Calcutta) ..well at least it used to be good - I dunno about now. |

well, yes education is much much harder than what you would expect it to be in kolkata. college seems like a pretty good time to study there but i suggest studying here, it would be much better for you to keep up. im 12 and my parents are also thinking of sending me to kolkata to a boarding school because the educatin is more intense. they are still thinking about but i like it better here.. . . . |

School level education standards are much higher in India, so it will be difficult for you to cope. Good colleges are plenty in India, not only Calcutta, dpending on the subjects you wish to study. |

Ask your parents why they moved FROM India in the first place. You may decide it's a place you like to visit, but not to live. I think your parents are right to tell you not to even consider this kind of move until you are in college. Until then, contact a few universities there and start a dialogue with their entrance or career counsellors, who should be able to guide you in your search.
Good luck!

It will be difficult to adjust to the Indian education methods.....I'd suggest complete your schooling in the States.
If you want to take up a professional course in Computer technology or social sciences....there are a lot of really good universities in India......some are the best in the world.....for some other specific courses it may be best to finish your studies in the states.
Check the availability of your desired course. And which universities support these courses.
Remember that the culture in India is very different from that in the States and will need some getting used to.
I suggest you travel to India on vacation in the vacations and take a look at the country and the universities before making a decision. |

I think u should move to india! Studies might be difficult but still....and then u should come back to U.S for university and u would find way easier...u noe india's education level is higher...whatever u do all i can say is do university in U.S..as everyone really values it...u can earn a lot of money ..and even if u decide to move to india again after university...it stil would be goood...i mean to say if u decide to do college in india ..then they won't value it in U.S but it u do college in U.S they would value it india..i noe it sounds confusing but i m sorry i m tryin my best to explain |
