nah...
it always feels like that when you think of only the capital...
but the rural areas are the ones which really need consideration...
and as far as i know(from newpaper, bbc and stuff) it's not developed that much....there are temple goddesses (potentially violates human rights) more than 17% people are under poverty line....more than 30% are illeterate...and the corruption rate and all that is high....
you will need to work much harder to develop it far enough to call it "developed country" |
|

help me!!!
 |
no it is still a developing country. there are a lot of problems to be solved. The illiteracy rate is high, the number of people who are deprived of the basic needs is also high.. |

India can NEVER go as a developed country!! If u ever see any of the developed country, you will never say india is a developed country.
Bad roads, bad infrastructures, dirty slums, drainage system, bad waste management, dirty govt hospitals,Red tapes, selfish polititions
There is no system and standard for the things.
Dont assess India by sitting in an office or A/c Car. Just walk for a while thru the city.Go to a Govt Hospital,Go to a public sector Office, you will never say we are developed!!!!But sure Not Undeveloped. |

the only way to judge if a country is developed is to check the following:
1. the condition of its public transport system - punctuality, cleanliness
2. the condition of roadways and highways
3. the working attitude of employees in banks, post offices, government departments
4. the safety of women and children at work, school, home
5. the sanitation levels and availability of public toilets
6. the existence of beggars and homeless
7. the condition of the labourers at construction sites
just because people are using the latest gadgets, wearing foreign labels, eating exotic food and flying overseas does not make a country developed. have you seen the condition of our trains and buses? been to a railway station lately? the smell and over-flowing garbage containers, the people spitting everywhere. i have seen a mobile (blackberry!) using-jeans wearing man blow his nose on his fingers and wipe it on the jacket of the man standing nearby! been to new delhi railway station or the bus-stand lately? car drivers open their doors to spit out and people just vomit out of bus windows.
of course we are a developed country, but sadly, this developed country is occupied by a very poor standard of human being!! |

Its a developed country if you think these are symptoms of a developed country -
I am giving you instances of NCR only -
Delhi -
1. If you visit the roads of trans Yamuna in the capital itself - these are not maintained for ages and are accident prone.
2. In the night rich guys driving over 100km/hr (most frequently visible) and throwing beer and whisky bottles on the road without caring two wheeler riders.
3. you can be a victim of raod rage anytime. Police will take long time to come and help.
4. so many cases of fraud cases in real states.
5.Even the India Capital is incapable to provide basic amenities to ordinary people - water, electricity & security.
Noida -
Simply a great crime hub. forget police support.
eg. one of my relative's bike stolen and they never registered FIR.
if you are alone you can be robed anytime.
Gurgaon -
if you are unlucky and travelling odd hours, your car and valuable can be robed.
In trains you can be thrown out if you fight for your right, no one will help.(until you are not traveling in trains like Shatabdi and Rajdhani).
Very latest - My free service of Santro Car- Comapny service centre made a bill of 2000rs when i argumented on this they it came to 0 rs. My car was driven only 1000 km without any accident or technical problem.you can see the height of corruption.
This information is just a drop from ocean of all anarchy. |

In my opinion u r navigating through the indecisive waves. I respect ur feelings but practically the truth is still to be brushed up.INDIA though in some aspects has become an advanced nation but still the resources of the GEOGRAPHIES demand more development at many stages to become DEVELOPED.
Hence, INDIA is in a developing stage to become DEVELOPED. |

You are right but not fully because there are some rural areas which
are not developing like they are not having electricity not even pure
water.Govt. should do something . |

Priya watch up Indias Literacy rate, Economic Growth, Living Standards in (Village & Cities) Etc then come to a conclusion that India is a developed country. Here in India Some will enjoy being crorepathis and Lot will suffer with poverty and Some will earn money by hurting / suffering others and some will earn by making huge work / by selling kidneys or blood etc., So, India according to me will become a Developed Country when every citizen of india contribute everything wich belongs to them for the welfare of India. |

Developed country status takes in to effect many things.
*Age that people in the country live to.
*Amount of people that had access to Education.
*Amount of college graduates...
*Amount of people that have access to utilities.. (E.g. water.)
*Income levels across the country etc.
I don't think India as a whole is quite there yet. It is becoming a tiger economy but it isn't quite developed country status I don't think yet.
For starters usually the United Nations Human Development Index (HDI) is a good start to tell if a place is close to the level of becoming a "developed nation"
Here is the 2008 listing.
http://hdr.undp.org/en/media/HDI_2008_EN_Tables.pdf
The developed nations are closer to the top 30-40 nations or so. India right now is ranked by the UN as 132 out of 179 total countries in the 2008 issue. The UN currently ranks Barbados as the most developed of all developing countries and Barbados is at #37 globally. So India needs to at least meet or surpass Barbados to reach developed nation status. |

Not yet but soon will be developed country with in 10 years time as India growth annually is 7 to 8% to GDP on sustainable basis .100% capitalist economy in USA and other developed countries does not mean developed country with developed economy .Devloped economy means a mixed form of well regulated economy which only India follows and it does not effect much to world economic crisis so far . |

I don't think people pee in public view in developed countries.
I don't think pavements are occupied by hawkers and pedestrians walk on the road in developed countries. It seems you are like a frog in the well. Please go east to Singapore or even Kuala Lumpur or west to Dubai or Abu Dhabi, to know how backward, poor and indisciplined Indians are. |

India is not just Mumbai or Delhi or Bangalore sweety :) that too the very posh areas in these cities! The rest of the India is far far away from being called developed!
I agrre with many answers above... In metros you get an illusion of all modern developemnts but in small towns / villages the status quo is same for last so many years...
It'll take at least 50 more years for India to be called "developed" and 'm being VERY optimistic here! |

Yes,After 20 years india become devloped |
|

prataps rule d world...
 |
sure!!!
it has a bit from the part of urban areas and a little bit from rural as urban areas are progressing in new education culture or opportunities while rural areas based people are now some how becoming aware of the goings in the country and their health and right ....
BUT on the other hand we mustn't deny that there are recessions and some mishaps are going on ...
and not all the people are aware of the whereabouts in the country and u must be aware of PINK SLIP its d most dangerous thing which people are afraid of....
so we can't say it has progressed on its full grounds but YEAH IT HAS PROGRESSED AS D JOBS ARE GOING ON LESS % THAN U.S. BUT THEY ARE GOING....
SO YEAH A LITTLE BIT PROGRESS IS THERE..... |
|

naweenly

Still long way to go......
Our per capita income is not to par of Developed country.
and Purchasing power is too less. |
