Go to Delhi by air on prevoius night and catch a volvo bus for manali early in the morning on next day from Delhi and come back in similar way .Pl follow

Lengthy answer... please bear with me ;)

Day 1: Travel to Manali-

1. Take an early morning flight to Chandigarh/Delhi. Although direct flight [with/without stops] to CHANDIGARH would be preferred, the number is smaller compared to that between MUMBAI and DELHI.

1a. If you take a flight to DELHI, choose flights whose timings will let you board a train to CHANDIGARH. I personally would avoid hiring a taxi all the way from DELHI. Instead take the taxi from CHANDIGARH.

2. Hire a taxi at CHANDIGARH for MANALI. The distance is approx. kms. It would take you about 8hours of leisurely driving which will allow you to marvel the mighty mountains.

Alternative at CHANDIGARH would be to hire a taxi for local sight-seeing and take the over-night bus to MANALI. CHANDIGARH has a few places you would love to visit. You have good number of HP Tourism, public and private transport operators running Volvo services.

Day 1: Arrival at Manali-

1. You should reach MANALI latest by 19:00. Rest for the night.

Day 2: Walks around the Town-

1. Loiter around the small town. Do lots of window-shopping/ exploratory shopping. Avoid impulse purchases. A day around the city would get you a feel about the right bargain.
2. Gather information about the tours operated to Kullu and back by both private and HP Tourism.

Day 3: Rohtang Rendevous-

1. If you have been to Manali, a trip to ROHTANG Pass is MANDATORY [no offence meant only a not-to-miss-suggestion ;0)]. You have good number of taxis/jeeps/sumos which operate on a individual and sharing basis.

2. Be back in MANALI by 17:00 to get ready to take the over night bus to SHIMLA.

Day 4: Naggar- Kullu- Manikaran Soujourn-

1. One complete day for Naggar, Kullu & Manikaran would help you visit at leisure the places you should not miss. Hire a taxi for the day to take you to Naggar, Kullu, Manikaran and back to Manali. Following link would be helpful I suppose:

2. Back to Manali latest by 19:00 hours.

NOTE: Start early say, by 07:00.

Day 5: Walk in the Woods-

1. Go on long walks along the many trekking routes. Local guides would be the best to assit you with info and equipment if required. I am sure you would be your own Discovery Channel.

Day 6: SHIMLA- KALKA Toy Train:

1. Enjoy the beautiful journey back to the lower Himalayas. I am sure you would love it.

2. Reach KALKA latest by 15:00

3. Leave for DELHI to reach latest by 19:00

4. Take the late evening flight from DELHI to MUMBAI

If indeed you are able to plan it from SUNDAY to SUNDAY, which I recommend you do, you would save on money as you can start from MUMBAI for AMBALA enroute CHANDIGARH and then MANALI by train late night on SATURDAY itself. For example:

take a flight to delhi and take a cab to manali and same way you can return you will be able to sped 4 days in kulu and manali. there are flights available for manali please check the availability. if you take connecting flight you will have have better holiday

It depends upon what you take to Kulu Manali. If you fly, then it would take you a day to reach Kulu, because you flu to chandigarh, and again you need to take a bus from Chandigarh. there's also a route from Ambala, I heard long way back about that route, any way, check that route, you can stay four nights in Kulu, by whichever way you go.
