I want to travel to Vailakani which is famous for Mother Mary church. How can we travel there from Chennai?

I have heard that there are regular buses from Chennai to Nagapattinam. From Nagapattinam do we have to take another bus to reach Vailankani? What are the timings when we can get a bus to Nagapattinam from Chennai? On the way back to Chennai when can we get buses from Nagapattinam? Do we have buses running from Chennai to Nagapattinam and back again till late in the night? Please give me some information!

Yes, what you hear-ed is correct. There are plenty of Govt (State Roadways) Buses from Chennai (Koyempedu bus terminal) to Nagapattinam, Velankanni. From both sides night buses are also available. My college from where I passed out is very near to Nagapattinam. You can also take a bus up to Mayiladudurai (Mayuram) from Chennai which is close by to Velankanni & Nagapattinam. Trust this will of yr help

Our lady of Good Health, popularly called "Our Lady of Vailankanni" is in the small town of Vailankanni (5000 residents) located on the shores of the Bay of Bengal. It is located 150 miles south of chennai in Tamil Nadu and 5 miles south of Nagapattinam. There is bus service from Nagapattanam to Vailankanni

there buses directly to velankanni from chennai see the link below

There r many buses from Koyambedu to Velankanni, 8 hours running time. Then through train, there is no railway station in Velankanni so u have to go to Nagapattinam. From there u will get many passenger vans and buses to Velankanni.

I am also very eager to go there.

Go and get the blessings of MARY and pray for us also.

From Chennai you have buses. But I suggest you to up to Madurai by train and take taxi from there and you will have a good peace of mind when you visit there. The couple who have married and don't have children and if they happen to visit there and worship Mary Mother , they will become mother a child within a year, they say. There is no discrepancy among Hindus and other communities to visit this place. All are very happy to visit. All tourist buses going through Madurai, Nagapattinam will definitely cover this pilgrimage also. So powerful and important Temple(not Church). It is called Velangkanni. I pray Mother Mercy Mary to give you a clear chance to visit this Pilgrim place and get the maximum benefit from this Powerful Matha (Amma.Mother)All the best Do pray for me too whenyou visit this place Yours VRVRAO
