The two known hill stations are Munnar and Vythiri. Vythiri will be closest to you, maybe four hours journey from Mysore through Bandipur and Sultan Batteri. I would suggest focussing on Vythiri, and exploring Wayanad. Munnar will cost you a day and a half.
You will need months to be to places in Kerala that you shouldnt miss! Focus on a district if time is short |

Go to Cochin. See around for a Day.
Next Day start to Alleppey. Take boat to Kottayam. From there go go Munnar. Stay there.
Next morning go to Trivandrum. Go around Veli/Trivandrum
Return from Trivandrum by Train/Flight
In case of shortage of time skip Cochin.
Happy Holidays!

They have institutions that aren't usually known to the West. They have public orphanages where you can look through the glass and choose a child to adopt. There has to be a father, mother, and they have to prove they have sufficient income to support an orphan. Kerala is a communist area of India where they distribute "benefits" confiscated from other countries. Communism in action consists of a big raiding party, where the distribution of the benefits will come later. The warehouses with all the things they confiscated for a future Communist society is outside the province, in Ahmedabad. Watch out you don't get robbed! |
