you should definetly stay at Taj Hotels Mumbai. It is 5 star luxury right in the heart of the city amongst everything in Colaba. If you book in advance you should get some good deals.

oh great, by god grace you may visit to lord krishna birthplace mathura and Tajmahal Agra (both are near to each other only 45 km distance). Both are the famous historitical place.

we'll mumbai is a great place! it has some very nice hotels too... but it all depnds on your budget n which side of mumbai u wanna stay in ! downtown mumbai is called south mumbai , the best place to stay there is the taj mahal hotel which is on gateway of india!the " taj president " is good!but if u wanna stay on marine drive " the intercontinental" is excellent , also it has a sexy roof top lounge called "dome" n a vodka bar called "czar"! the four seasons has just opend up in "worli" in s. mumbai! in suburbs the j.w marriot is a good choice , the clubbin secne is excellent there on saturday nights! then the grand hyatt,but all these places r above 250us$ ! so all boils down to budget! repost ur question with budget would be a good idea,, also if ur a foodie the minute u land in mumbai pick up "the times mumbai good food guide" from any bookstore! it'd mumbai foodie bible, also it'll tell u the best nightlife secne too! goa would b a good place too visit its an hours flight from mumbai, but it's off season though but great hotel deals right now! as u mentioned punjab , u can also visit chandigarh city there! feel free to ask more if u need! hav a ball! n welcome to india!
