Sardar doesn't fall under caste since the sardars are shiks not hindus. |

Caste is a social system applicable to hindus....much like the medieval Europe where there were Serfs, Noblemen, clergymen etc. But Sardars are people who believe in Sikh religion and Sikhs do'nt believe in caste system, as it discriminates among people. Basically in present day parlance, anybody who wears a turban and professes to Sikh religion is called a Sardar. Present Prime Minister of India is a 'sardar'......Mr. Manmohan Singh. |

Generally males of Sikh fath are called sardar. However, in many other areas the name sardar are used, such as important political leaders, military and religious officers.
In Afghanistan and Pakistan, many Pashtun, Baloch, Sindhi and Brahui tribal leaders are called Sardars. |

3. Kirpan (sword shape knife)
4. Kesh (long hair)
