In INDIA reservation should be based on caste or poverty?

if you are referring to reservation in:
1. education - why? we should give them degree at birth,so that they need not crowd the institutions.
2.jobs - give them designation as chief in all fields and pay them salary,to stay at home.
3.sports - teams should be only made up of them
4.pilots - in airlines.
5.captains - in shipping
at the spur of the moment i can think of these

having resolved the issue as suggested,thereafter all selection should be on the basis of merit.
we should not forget the rights of the mentally challenged,who should get priority of all those deserve reservation.

Instead of answering this question I want to ask another question from all respective members present here:

Do we need reservation? Can't we help out each-other? Do we really need this fatal reservation system encouraged by our greedy politicians only for their vote-bank.

I think you are right that Government should give reservations on the basis of poverty so that the poor can become rich b'coz now the rich are becoming richer & poor are becoming poorer.

There should be absolutely no fcuking reservation in anything .We Indians are used to begging and help from others.The Gov.t instead should make education readily available by decreasing the course fees ,making one available for a lone etc etc.

Thanks to the Cong. Govt. , they ruled for over half a century and pushed the country 200 years backward.

i feel there should be no reservation, those who have the ability so be given the admissions only...... prove ur ability and get admission. there shouldnt be any concept of reservation except in travelling ha ha ha

DEFINITELY IN INDIA THE RESERVATION SHOULD BE BASED ON POVERTY. BECAUSE, AS YOU SAID THERE ARE POOR PEOPLE EVEN IN OTHER CAST AND FORWARD CAST TOO..... FOR EXAMPLE WHEN MY FRIEND AND ME GOT THE SAME RANK, I GOT A BETTER SEAT IN A BETTER COLLEGE THAN MY FRIEND! SO, I FEEL VERY BAD ABOUT THIS RESERVATION.....

If we really want true development of our society and economic development of the country, there should not be any reservation because by causing reservation we are compromising on quality.

Reservation must not depend on the basis of Caste. Reservation must be for those people who really deserve it. Poor people deserve reservation. People who are poor must be given the reservation. It doesn't matter that they are general or schedule caste. Poor is poor of any caste or religion. Government should make a policy through which poor people should be covered. Poverty is a curse and it must be removed from our society. And one more thing, this is not only the duty of government but we should also do something for it.

You are true,should be based on Proverty.There are many poor people in the forward castes who don't get any benefits from the Govt.
