Men tend to dress in Western clothes- slacks and shirts.

Women tend to dress in Indian clothes (especially if they don't want to be overly groped by the men).

whitesilk
i think most of them wear Indian tradition clothes

It is all about convenience in India and it also depends whether it is urban or rural India. Most of the people in Metropolitan ,urban and semi-urban cities in India wear western clothes. Traditional dress is worn both by men and women for family, religious and other social occasions. Traditional Indian clothes are phasing out , except for specific occasions.

Traditional clothes are a passe now. Traditional are not fit enough to work.

kixystix
I agree with Ken L, men wear shirt and pants, women are generally more traditional. Although depends where you are, once you hit Goa women are in western clothing a lot more than anywhere else I saw.

Mellivora
Western clothes esp the closer you are to cities...

Boots and Stetsons are de riguer for the trend setters. The rest of them are a sari lot.
