Yes of course, i have been on holiday there, not all places are poor remember, India has places made of gold etc. Try to avoid towns and cities that have been bombed, if you do you'll be fine. I went 3 years ago when i was 11. I wasn't scared one bit. Poverty is shocking though, give sweets to the kids on the street it makes them so happy! |

of course its a safe place. just dont go to mumbai or that many places in north india.thats where terriosts usually hit but not now. south india is more safer but a little more poor. probaly u should go to new delhi. also of course the indian people r nice. but it will probaly behard for u to communicate with them. also the food is delicious. if u arent fond of spicy food just order very small spicy because their food are hot.but theres also western foods. also stay around the tourist area. thats where more people know how to speak english. plus dont ever go eat street food at india. eat at regular restaurants. also people dont die everyday?! well hope u enjoy thats my home country |

India is a large country and is as safe as any other at present. You seem to have some strange ideas about India. My advice is to keep away from the trains because there have been a few bombs. It is reasonable to hire a taxi and driver for the day that is how we have travelled when we were there recently. It is not usual to go around touching people in India especially for a woman to touch a man. I am not fond of Indian food it is too hot for me. There are some western
food outlets in the big cities and most hotels will cater for the tourist palette. When I came through the airport I went through 13 security checks before being allowed to board the aircraft when there was a scare on last time with Pakistan. |

Although number of attacks etc are more than western countries per se, looking at the size of country and diverse travel options i would reckon odds of getting caught up in a terrorist act are as good as getting your airplance plane crashed.
-Touch, they dont dance or something but Indians dont normally touch unless they are very close to you.
So avoid touching.
-Food, well it depends, where your eat. If you see middle class locals hanging out in a place, expect clean food.
Be ready for lot of oil and spices though.
Go to some 5 star hotels to get best cuisine, it will cost you same as a middle class restraunt in west, but absolutely superb. |

It is a vast country. Rajasthan, Agra, and a few places in south like kerala, temples in tamil nadu or karnataka are most touristy sports. You cannot trains in India. Book a first class or a AC coach and you will be fine. Its a vast country and train system are the best there. You seem to have some weird thoughts about the country, which are not true. Summer is the hottest there. Esp July, Aug it rains like cats in the west coast. Dec/Jan is best weather to go to south side. |
