Yes its safe so long as u dont lose it--dont carry too much cash--its not worth the risk and somehow the bad elements find out that u have money-check every 30 mins if ur out shopping if u still have ur cards in ur wallet-and make sure its the cards that u have to tpye ur pin key numbers--that way no one can misuse it-- and if by bad luck U do lose ur card--REPORT it immediately--enjoy you trip--dont spoil it by wasting ur time--complaining to the police--they wont take action anyway--if u do lose ur card or luggage--dont carry valuable items-bon voyage

I'd say try just using your Citi-bank card, or a Chase card. They have worked great for me in the past.
