Majority of Indians speak Hindi. Hindi, in its various dialects, is also mothertongue of many people in states like Bihar, Uttar- Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhatisgarh and Jharkhand. Although English is taught in schools and universities, and currently seen as the language of/with future, Hindi will continue to be spoken in rural India, besides being used as mother tongue of millions. |

Dose English speaking people watch more than 80 Hindi TV Channels?
Bollywood makes almost 1000 Hindi movies every year. who watch them?
Our English speaking people when want to reach mass they make only Hindi Ads for us. Have you seen Thande ka tadka ?
Look at yahoo Answers most asked question is how to download Hindi MP3's?
Mostly sold newspaper and magazines are also in Hindi. |

No. Education is in English yes but Hindi as a language is a compulsory subject in all schools.
also, the Hindi film industry is a big influence on the people ALL OVER India so even if its not the language of the region, most people know a splattering or at least understand spoken Hindi. |

No way!Hindi is to India what water is to a fish.Hindi is India's national language.Hindi is part of our culture. If Hindi dies,a part of Indian culture dies.I speak fluent English but I also speak Hindi and I am never apologetic to speak Hindi anytime anywhere. So Hindi will live as long as India lives. |
