Yes India is a great country , it's vast so there is a destination suitable for every weather condition, that makes it an all around the year holiday destination. Moreover there are the beaches, mountains , cities and towns so there is diversity in terms of the type of holiday you want to take.
English is widely spoken and Indians are a helpful lot of people, so theres absolutely no trouble on that end.
I also wish people would stop harbouring the misconception that India is only about poor people and diseases, weel it's not, there's much much more to India than just that. There's a rich cultural heritage and a legacy of hospitality that India offers to anyone who visits the country. |

Yes, India has a rich and unique cultural heritage, and has managed to preserve its established traditions throughout history whilst absorbing customs, traditions and ideas from both invaders and immigrants. Many cultural practices, languages, customs and monuments are examples of this co-mingling over centuries. Famous monuments, such as the Taj Mahal and other examples of Islamic-inspired architecture have been inherited from the Mughal dynasty. These are the result of a syncretic tradition that combined elements from all parts of the country.
Indian music is represented in a wide variety of forms. India produces the world's largest number of films every year.
Religious practices of various faiths are an integral part of everyday life in society.
Education is highly regarded by members of every socio-economic stratum.
Traditional Indian family values are highly respected, and considered sacred, although urban families have grown to prefer a nuclear family system, owing to the socio-economic constraints imposed by the traditional joint family system.
Religion in India is a very public affair, with many practices imbued with pomp and vitality accompanying their underlying spiritual qualities.
The cuisine of India is extremely diverse, as ingredients, spices and cooking methods vary from region to region.
Rice and wheat are the staple foods in the country. The country is notable for its wide variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisine.
Spicy food and sweets are popular in India.
Traditional dress in India greatly varies across the regions in its colours and styles, and depend on various factors, including climate.
India's national sport is field hockey, although cricket is now the de facto national game.
In some states, particularly in the northeast, football (soccer) is the most popular sport and is widely watched. |

Not for travelling alone. For the touristy things, you have a lot of travel agencies.
If you do want to travel alone, its best you go with somebody who knows the country. |

india is the best place to travel provided you follow some safety rules (just like any other country). people are friendly, most of them understand english, you get everything for all types of budget (can live on anything between $1 to $10,000). you can experience rich cultural heritage and different festivals. it's a much better place than japan or germany or mexico or brazil.
however, you need to be careful not to get too excited and get cheated. |

No... you should go somewhere where they have regulations on food, hotels, etc. such as the United Kingdom, Austrailia, or Japan. Plus, you probably don't know their language, which could be really bad if you need help. |
