If you have in mind love making in public, love postures in public and similar kind of acts and display of scenes, these are censored in Indian society and not taken in good taste. Such acts are accepted as private and acted upon in the four walls of your rooms. We have our own culture and need no recommendations or sarcasm from anyone. If this fits into your thinking, fine. So better behave and follow the rule - In Rome, do as the Romans do.

If you can overcome this part of your (possible) acts, India is a very lovely destination for honeymoon. The land offers variety of locations beyond imagination. Nature has been very kind to us and we enjoy its blessings.

India in common is a heaven for everything you think of. As far as tourism and vacations goes this country has everything to offer, from Snow mountains to Desert. There are very good places in India to spend your honeymoon. I wont suggest the usual, Kulu manali, Shimla, Darjeeling, Mussorie, etc etc.. rather than would like you to go to a place known as God's Own Country... It is the worlds top 10 places to visit. and has been awarded the SUPERBRAND. This place is having really something which nobody should miss. It has sea beaches, to Hilly Mountains covered with Spices and tea gardens. to the best backwaters in this country. I am supporting this place because I myself and a Tour Consultant and had spent 3 good years in this place. right now I am in Dubai, but had done enough Honey moon packages in this place. This place will provide you the real experience and mood a loving Honey moon couple looks for. It will provide you enough space and privacy to spend your honeymoon. It will be the best and unforgetting experience of you life. I am giving you the routing for this heaven. From where ever you are coming, Take a flight or Train to the place called Cochin also known as Ernakulam. Spen your first 2 days here. have an ayurvedic massage in the place of your stay and rejuvanate yourself for the fore play. then move on to Munnar the Hilly region. Take the breathtaking views from the estate over there. Spend at least 3 Nights there and go around sightseeing. then move on to thekkady the place u will feel and see the spices grwon all along coffe plataions etc etc... Go for a ride in the Periyar Tiger Resreve Forest and have the best moments of your HM captured on to your heart minds and camera as well.. Spend atleast 2 nights here. Then Move on to Alleppey and take a Houseboat trip. These houseboats are no better than a luxury 5 star Suite. Have your day and night onboard the boat packed with all the amenities. Have your lunch dinner breakfast cooked on board and served to you hot!!!!!. Then spen one night in Kumarakom a Backawater heaven. Then move on to Koavalam, the world famous beaches and spend 2 nights there and then move on back to your destination. I hope that you will find this a better option than either going to a cold place and spending your time there or going to a some other place and spending time there. It would depend on the type of people that you both are. If you want to see tropical sites, or big cities, get drunk a lot, and party every night, then India may not be the honeymoon spot for you.
On the other hand, if you both enjoy each other's company, want to take in another culture, and see a financially diverse caste system and how it works, I would go to India.
I've always wanted to see it, so if you decide to go, enjoy it and know that I'm envious of you.

india could be a fantastic place for honeymooning if u know the right places to go. rajasthan (agra, jaipur, udaipur,jaisalmer) is an excellent destination for winters u can live in the majestic palaces if ur pocket allows or more economical hotels are also available. backwaters Kerala and goa are another good place for honeymooning. loads of hillstations and some excellent resorts which have just cropped up. if u decide to go just write back to me with your budget and the days u want ot spend there and i can recommend some excellent locations.not trying to sell anything here if u r wondering

ARE YOU KIDDING????????????? I lived there for eight years and even kissing or hugging in public is frowned upon in most places. To most Indians the concept of a Honeymoon is something beyond their grasp and there is a whole subgroup of people who have nothing better to do than attack people because thety think displaying a LITTLE bit of affection is against their culture. NO WAY! Try the Carribean or South East Asia.

yes and no. in public, it is pda is frowned upon. however, there are some very beautiful destinations for a honeymoon. ooty, goa, and the himalayas are three great spots for a honeymoon in india.

wlidhoney is correct about wha he mentioned about -but this not only about INDIA.Whole ASIA is like this..people stop if they find you kissing ..or showing emotions in public.

This is how culture is...we can not help on this issue. But most important factor is what INDIA offers to a honeymooner.

You can have mountains [ Besides huge himalayas-you have SAHYADRI MOUNTAIN RANGE ] you can go to deserts,you can go to beaches and in plains...you can wonder in history and present of high tech INDIA.

I thiknk-you have to plan a little bit and you can have a memorable honeymoon.

Try camping...Taj Mahal and Beach. This is enough for a honeymoon :))
