Not at all necessary. In some places they do not expect. If the waiter after settlement of the bill scratches his head the meaning is he is expecting some tips. It is for you to give or not. In my opinion no tips should be given as they are supposed to be paid by the employer fully. Further the image of inda is spoiled.

Totally depends on where you are eating. Yes if you are eating in fine dining a la carte restraunts ,no if you are eating anywhere else.The norms should be the same as wherever you are from.
