yes but you have to change train from madurai jn.
from rameshwaram to madurai and from madurai to nagerkoil and from nagerkoil to chennai you have direct train

rameshwaram and suchendram is not at a close distance. normally you can ramehwaram stay for a night or two and then on travel to Kanyakumari from where in you can visit sucheendram.
