Going to the beach with a small baby is not practical. I have seen ladies with babies suffering at beach picnics organized in the Navy. Please take a small baby somewhere safer.

Anyone can be in danger if they do not take procautions at the beach.
This is more serious for a baby where you are near deep water etc and in situations where it has the potensial to be vunerable.

about how safe it is to take yourself and your baby depends on the safety measures that u take .......
apply and carry a good sun protection lotion.... SPF15 or 30
wear a Cap, also cover your baby's head....
dont go too near to the water....
if your baby's really young... don't cover eyes and mouth, if it's too breezy to avoid sand getting in....
just b careful .... but don't overdo it....
let your self free and have a great time...
