No, Not at all....never try that after 7 PM in a state called Bihar. They will not only snatch your bicycle but also your clothes. |

in most cities there arent any seperate cycle routes in india. the traffic is really bad with lots and lots of vehicles, frequent rush and traffic jams, rash driving, poor observvation of traffic rules and silly overtaking by nearly all big and small vehicles.what is worse, unlike other nations where cyclists are treated with respect and concern,in india a cyclist are eyed with scorn and contempt and and angry looks if u get in way of anybody.cycle is considered as a slow moving silly thing.
within the city it is unsafe and the highways are too fast and risky too.maybe on a hill station u could manage... |

Not even a bicycle, You ride a motorcycle also you will land up in same condition!!! Better say your prayers before you do so!!!! Only god can help you!!!!!!!!!!!1 |

Ha! It's barely safe to travel at all in India. The traffic is terrible and there are many reckless drivers. Trust me, I've been there many times and I have had the most luck with walking, taking trains and the occasional taxi. |

It is as safe as any western country but it may not be very comfortable. The roads are crowded and not in good condition everywhere and traffic is not at all orderly, especially on the highways. Also daytime at this time of the year is unbearably hot. You can always rent a bicycle locally wherever you go to. Kodaikanal is the a good place in India to move around on bicycle. |

In india all places are not safe it is based on the area in which you want to travel, if want to travel whole of india on bicycle better take highway route and also conditions of some roads would be worst so it is bit risky to say |

Yes.
No different then any other country, planing and cautions must be taken, support systems must be in place and any long remote trips must be backed by motorise vehicle for causality and supply. |
