ok what can I tell you? TYhis is only a example. I am working in New york City. I am Costa Rican. Before I came a lot of people told me dont go there is a dangerous place after 9/11. Tough it all I came never huppened again and I am very happy here. I guess if you like that place you should go, like you said that was only an event in not too frequently like Afghanistan. |

Yes. Its 100% safe. It was safe earlier too but after Mumbai attacks, there is much more security.
So take my work, its as safe as new your post 9/11. Just because there was a terrorist attach in another state, you cant put Delhi to be unsafe.
If you stil need any help me, contact me :-) |

Just be vigilant. If you have dual citizenship, it's a good idea to carry your non-American or British passport. But seriously, don't worry about it. I have friends who live near New Delhi. You're just as safe there as you are in New York or Chicago. |

Whatever you do, stay away from 5 star hotels. Try to blend in as much as possible. As in don't overtly advertise that you're a foreigner. Change up your routine while you're there.
Always be aware of your surroundings. Don't go exploring on your own. Don't go exploring period! Other than that? Best wishes and good luck to you on your trip to India. |
