what is called the BIMARU states have a very bad track record of female foeticide (thats what its called) as well as other economic and humananitarian parameters.

bimaru means sick in hindi. bimaru consists of the following states in india: bihar madhyapradesh rajasthan and uttarpradesh.

of these bihar and rajasthan areas are notorious for skewered female sex ratios and girl foetus killing as well as dowry related deaths. there was also some incidents of sati (widow burning after husbands death) in this century.

that said, india has made a lot of progress on this issues in recent times, esp by recognising them as issues and banning sex determination, stringent laws against dowry, etc.

It doesn't take some place like India to do this - read into the Chinese lawbooks. Its a country where there is no such thing as humanity or governmental responsibility.

I have heard that too. Also a few other places, I think I heard the practice was also in China in certain provinces. If they could just realize that many couples cant have children and would PAY to have one of those infants-they would probably be able to improve their country's economy a hundred times over!
But then being humans, they would force women to have babies and give them to Big Bro to sell off and then there would be more slavery yadda yadda yadda.

Well dear sadly , yes. but it was past. no in this time. it was before 100 years agao, when the britishers ruled india. india was a slave country and indians were facing social injustice. at that time it was very hard fora parent to give birth toa girl child and grow her to the age. baby child were raped by the british soldiers and killed. it was the girl who payed a heavy price for living, it was not easy in india to live with a black spot of rape through the whole life. also there were some tribes who did this for some unkkown reasons.,......today's india is changed. womens are raped . abused everywhere , but india is only country who worships womens . most of our god are females.we got females in every aspect of the life.
