Right now, Delhi Metro operates three lines.
One line connects Rithala to Shahdara, another line connects University to Central Secretariat and the third from Dwaraka to Barakhamba Road (Connaught Place).
You can check about Delhi Metro Rail and the route map at their website: http://www.delhimetrorail.com
It may be expensive compared to the other mass transport options (city bus service) in some stretches, but taking the comfort and the durations of travel it is very economic and is the better choice. |

Fares at Delhi metro range from Rs. 6 to 21, which is listed at http://www.delhimetrorail.com/commuters/metro_fares.html. They are a little expensive compared to the other public transport system, namely buses. DTC website lists fares here - http://dtc.nic.in/dt3.htm. You could park and ride at the 18 stations as detailed in http://www.delhimetrorail.com/commuters/parking_facilities.html. Once feeder service nicknamed "Metro Link" by DMRC is operational, the convenience will be hard to beat. This is definitely better than haggling prices with auto-rickshaw drivers. |
