In today's situation and for the time to come, one need to have a balanced approach. It may not all be environment friendly, but weighing all pro and cons, it would definitely offset some losses with some gains.

Population on roads have been increasing but who cares, neither vehicle buyers/users nor authorities. Expansion of roads within city has reached its saturation point. Vested interests are more united and powerful. Then what to do.

Further, one can neither leave the city nor live within!

Yeah it wud definately help to reduce traffic problem in the area! Moreover the link wud have been complete till now or next year,if it wud not have been subject to harsh comments from environmental group,So now all the criteria is satisfied the link is being built!
So its Environmental Free and will add to Mumbai's Sea Beauty!!

Chirag
As of theoretical plans and information definitely. But until its fully functional one cant specify correctly.
Though it will definitely save time for mumbaikars.
It is not 100% environment friendly as of now due to ongoing construction process over the sea.

first of all i donno whether even it will get completed and wen it gets completed (maybe in 10 more years) the traffic will double!!
and as far as the environment is considered LOL!!

I think it would definately solve the problem of traffic but it may not be eco-friendly

Rohan U
yes definitely...its built to redirect the traffic coming from town to bandra and therefore freeing the already chocoblocked dharavi and dadar roads!

no two bones about it...

just for example how much west has done and still managed to stay "environment friendly"

all this talk only applies to "third world countries"
