North and north-west regions of India have fair skinned people in comparison to other regions specially south. It is because of climatic effect. Since muslims are more populous in north and north west (punjab, Jammu & kashmir, delhi, up, etc.) in comparison to southern areas, it is a general perception that muslims seem more fair skinned than others. in sothern areas such as kerala and andhra, where muslims are found, there is hardly any fairskinned muslim. |
