All of these answers are wrong so far.

There was a recent test done on this in Australia (using the blue bottle species) and they found that pee, vinegar, rubbing sand, ice etc did not help.

What did help was immersing the stung area into warm water (about 30-40 degrees celcius).

Yes. Apply raw lemon/lime to the area. The stinging should subside.

a jelly fish don't bite, they sting. and use vinegar

Where as it does sound weird, yes. Pee on the wound.

once you get stung by a jelly fish you quickly pour vinegar on it and go to the ER.

It isn't a cure, but the ammonia in urine slows down the venom, and help lighten the sting. Oh and they really aren't bites. Their tendrils are lined with little stingers.
