Is there any train from chennai central or egmore to chidambaram?

I want to go to annamalai university from chennai central. Is there any train to go there? If it is please suggest the timetable of that train.

Hi,
Right now, there is no direct train facility to Chidambaram from Chennai. Because due to Gauge conversion, Southern railway has closed the line between Villupuram to Mayiladuthurai. But from CMBT you can get lot of buses to Chidambaram in all type of buses (normal, semi delux, ultra-delux)
