You don't need to go this route to enjoy India. It is the wrong season. This the time for the mountains.

August is the month of rain almost everywhere in India. However I would recomend the route for r destinations as under.
day-1: delhi local sight seeing.(avoid Monday)
day-2: delhi-agra-delhi(avoid Friday)
day-3: delhi-jodhpur. Jodhpur should be least affected in rain, so is jaisalmer. If u r keen on history, see Udaipur. Jaipur/Udaipur should be best for History lovers. Jaisalmer is just for desert camel/jeep safari.
Hope now you can make a good decision. |

Month of August is pleasant climate to travel in Rajasthan. Jaisalmer is the best among the 3Js you have selected. You are welcome to India, a great nation with rich heritage. |

Golden Temple's a really nice place to visit, been there about 6 times when I lived there, also I'd recommend Goa's middle aged European architecture and Mussoorie and Simla, go there, it's really nice over there.
P.S. I am thinking of going to see Hemkunt next year, somehow it's related to my faith, I am a Sikh by the way and it's said that Guru Gobind Singh, one of my faith's founders, once during His past life before taking birth as Gobind Singh, did a years long hard meditation over there towards God and at which end, God came before Him and granted some really powerful powers. And Guru Gobind Singh himself told this story to Sikhs during His lifetime as Gobind Singh and had left clues about that place in the Sikh scriptures about it's location. This location was then discovered by some British Sikh soldiers patrolling in the region during the first half of 20th century. |

im no expert on india, only been there once ,on a kuoni tour.the golden triangle.delhi,jaipur,aggra.the whole trip was amazing.but apart from standing in awe and looking up at the Taj Mahal my favourite part was the ghost city of fattepur sikri.(i think i spelt that right).it was very very hot.i only had seven days,so delhi to jaipur and aggra was done in hurry, not enough time, but i loved the trip, twas ok for just a week.enjoy.indian people are very nice.personally,i did not like the very little i saw of jaipur.but maybe thats just me.if i had more time to see more maybe i change mind. |
