I love Goa and wish to retire there when my time comes. Beautiful beaches, friendly people and bloody awful drivers.
Look at the link below to give you an idea of what vaccinations you need.
If you live in the UK you may be able to get some of these free if not they are not too expensive. You will have to buy the malaria tabs yourself though, get them from any chemist, it is important to take them.
Beware of Denghi Fever a nasty infections. Make sure you take out fully comprehensive travel and health insurance - believe me this is vital.
If you have any unusual symptoms after returning home from the holiday (say five to six weeks) go to your GP and tell him or her where you have been and what your symptoms are. You may have picked up some tropical infection.
Go and enjoy it is wonderful. |

typhoid/ top up your tetanus jab and maybe , myself i don't bother with the malaria tabs because i usually go for 3 months and then your supposed to take them for that length of time when you get back,, been loads of times, never had a problem, so it's up to you, pretty safe in Goa, eat in reputable restaurants, drink bottled water, and have a lovely holiday |

there is no official requirement for jabs. dont take malaria tablets, they dont stop you getting it, just suppress the symptoms. also they dont stop dengue fever. make sure you cover yourself in insect repellent, it will stop you getting bitten by anything, which is much preferable. the only jab i ever have for goa was rabies, because i like to pet the scabby dogs! If you are only going to drink bottled water and wash your hands before eating, theres no need for jabs. they dont even work anymore. |
