Chennai is a horrible place - for 11 months it is hot from 35 to 40 deg. c. Now it is supposed to be rainy season and somewhat better.

Other places - Yer-curd - Best weather
- Madurai and kanyakumari Tolerably good.

I think you are coming from West and you will not require sweater. It is enough you take a blanket only for use in night if needed.

ONLY YERCAUD IS BIT COLD, WHICH MAY REQUIRE LIGHT WINTER CLOTHES. FOR PEOPLE EXPERIENCED IN NORTH WINTER, NORMAL CLOTH IS SUFFICIENT. CHENNAI & MADURAI ARE HOT, MAX. TEMP. HOVERING AROUND 33 - 35 DEGREES CENTIGRADE.

well if ur planning to come to chennai its a mixture of both hot sun and rain .. weather is kind of unpredictable here.. today was very hot and day before yesterday it rained like end of the world.. pack for hot and cold cloths.. i suggest..
Weather at madurai is almost the same.. rain and sun.

Someone once cracked a joke...the only 3 seasons chennai has is hot, hotter and hottest! lol...so if ur comin to chennai be prepared for the worst....its supposed to cool down in decembr....so if ur in luck we might have a few showers!
