you should start by visiting Jaipur - Jodhpur - Jaiselmer - Udaipur - Chittorgarh - and if you want to see more then you can go Ranthambore - Sariska (Alwar). There are lot's of good hotels at all of these places. If you want to book them in advance then please go through -

Try jodhpur or jaisalmer for new year. You can go to desert camping in the night and celebrtae new year. There are good hotels in jodhpur, budget to 5star and they all can arrange camping services.

Keep in mind that temprature can drop to 0 degees in night in desert in december so prepare accordingly. campfire, warm cloths, booze :)

Visit the travelonline portals and carry out a research.we had visited rajasthan a year back before the jaipur problems it was awesome the rajasthan tourism hotels were clean and efficient.........you could book your accomodation online a month or two ahead since it is a very favourite destination..........enjoy
