You have not told from which part of the world you are . but If you are from a place where there is snow falls frequently, then you will feel Decemeber very comfortable and pleasing time.

but beware of auto, taxis who charge heavy fares for short distances , considering you as outsider they are lured to make fast bucks

As all aware the American economy is weakening and so the dollar against this Rupee has fallen: Now the approximate conversion USD =40 IRS.
Anyhow it is very economic to spend for travel,shopping and living: So as for as India is concerned, you can forget about the money and expenses and do very freely ( that much cheep)

Currently , $1=40 Rupees, As per shopping in India, it is cheap compared to US . The climate in Dec at Agra would be cold(Around 40 F). Best time to visit Taj Mahal , Delhi etc is either Feb, Mar or Sept., Oct. I hope it helps you.

A dollar these days is worth only 40-41 rupees. But then 40 rupees goes a long way. You can get a really good hotel for Rs2000 per night. Food would be Rs 50-100 a meal and clothes really cheap but need to bargain like hell and most try to cheat you where they can. Taxi is dead cheap despite high fuel prices but taxi quality is below standard.

Entry into Taj Mahal is >20 times more expensive for non- residents, something like Rs750 per adult whereas locals pay Rs20. How do they distinguish a lcal indian from an overseas indian? By the cloths they wear and the accent. Hope this helps.

Everything is suuuuuuper cheep in India. My friend was born there and visited this summer, and I think she said 10 ruppes equals 25 cents. But im not possitive, but i htink thats right
