societies evolve over a period of time.the way things are depends on how things have turned out to be & reactions to the events. most of old civilizations have shunned the openess related to sex. whether it is Indian , chinese, persian civilization. even the britishers have been traditionally very closed -esp victorian & post victorian time. It is only now in last few decade that things have changed. In our country the focus was never sex. It was because it was considered part of married life & not the focus. Most of open countries (sex free) is a development of post was period like - denmark, USA, netherlands etc. these have never been sex free countries prior to 1940's.
As for 2nd question, It is a relative question to which no one can perfectly say yes or no because each has its own shortcomings. personally i feel opening up to certian extent is desirable bot totally sex free would be disaster like the experience of many western countries -unwed mothers, high divorce rates, singles not interested in marriage , emotional problems etc. |

Does India want to be saddled with problems such as single mothers who are unable to care for their kids properly...who grow up as criminals???
Or, should there be more women & men carrying HIV and AIDS in a country of over 1billion population? |

In ancient time sex in India was open and free in society, you can see sex positions figure and statues sculptures are in old temples and caves.
But after moguls and Britishers ruled in India there was changed in society. Women starts keeping covering faces(Ghunghat) and cove rd full body. So in the society changed came from that time and this can not be changed in overnight. History repeats it self so that time will come soon. |

why you are behind India to invite more problems like AIDS, STDs etc. as it is India is facing lot many problems
what do you mean by free. do you want to do Road show ???
If no, then you can have sex with mutual consent with anyone, anywhere, anytime and that is the conditions everywhere, be it bangkok or america
Even in sexfree country like thiland you cant do it without her or his consent. |

Please don't talk about tradition and the so called values of our country, we come from a place which gave the world Kama Sutra, sex was an important part of life in medieval India, but society changes and this one in particular is very hypocritical.
We have temples in the south with sexual positions carved on there walls.
Its kinda weird to me that in a country that constitutes 1/6th of the worlds population, somehow people appear ignorant to sex. I think people need to wake up and talk about it, its just sex.
Everybody does it, just that no one talks about it. |

What you people call sex-free ... we call prostitutes. Jump into bed with every other person you meet. One looses all his / her self respect and respect from others too. Any person who has had sex with a person spreads the buzz arround that he / she is available... go and do it. |
