To enter the grounds it is, but I seem to remember having to pay to get inside. We ended up paying for a guide as well (not very much) and it was well worth it for the background he gave us.

Entry to Taj Mahal is free on Fridays. Entry Fee for other days is as follows:


Visiting Hours : Open from sunrise to 19 hours. The monument is closed on Mondays.

Entry Fee : Entry fee for those above 12 years. Entry Fee for

Foreign Nationals : 750 Rs., Entry Fee For Indian
Tourists : 20 Rs.

no, but its not too expensive either. Also make sure that its open the day you decide to go. My family went and there was only so much you could see as it was closed.

I paid 750 rupees in December. Make sure you get up early and go cos it changes colour as the sun comes up. Watch out for the hawkers trying to sell you cheap crap. They won't leave you alone!!!!!!!!!!!
