Doctors, IT professionals and scientists. Highly educated and intellectual, they can obtain visas and much more lucrative jobs in the US.

Doctors and Lawyers. Because we are for the people regardless of race, skin color, religion or nationality. If not for us, American would have been long croupted.

It seems like they focus on math and science. There are a lot of computer programmers, engineers, and other occupations which require a higher level of technological understanding/education. Just take a look at the folks who work at Google, for example. The majority of them are Indian or Asian. There is also a very large amount of entrepeneurs in fields ranging from food service (aka liquor stores and restaurants) to computers, to financial services. There are a lot of wealthy self-made Indians in the US.

As to why, i think it has a lot to do with the work ethic and the importance those cultures place on duty to family before self. They choose those occupations that have high demand and offer better pay, and therefore better support for the family. I have an Indian friend, for example, whose parents are immigrants, but came to America when she was 4. Her father started his own electrics business and profited very well off it. She now goes to Arizona State Univ. where she would have chosen to major in Dance, but her parents forced her to pick something more practical, so she chose Architecture. After all, in this view, her parents don't want to pay for her to go to university unless they know they're investing for her (and their) future. You don't get a good career with a degree in Dance.

Like China, huge amounts of young Indians (20-35) are getting higher degrees in technical fields, thereby enriching and growing their economies. Both countries are up-and-coming world powers because of this trend, which was perfected by Japan in the post-war era.

An interesting subject. To completely understand an issue like this, one needs to look to the cultural, economic, political, historical, and educational factors that are at play. But i think i've given a pretty good overview.

.
common jobs such as postal worker or maybe at a factory.
cuz i am indian and alot of indians my parents knew had they jobs that required no education in the usa
but some went to college here and became an engineer, pharmacist or nurse or doctor.

either they studied in india in english to get a job here or they went to college again here.
